The Superactive Fiber Optic Bundle puts light and color right into the palm of your hand. It provides yet another great way to develop color recognition and cause & effect skills. Wonderfully tactile, the fiber optics can be laid across a person’s lap to create a close, hands-on experience.
Press one of the eight colors on the wireless controller and the fiber optics will change to that color. Alternatively, you can choose both the standard controller AND our incredible new MAZE CONTROLLER to provide fun and novel spatial, visual, and fine motor challenges!
The unit can be used for social interaction, color recognition, and color matching, and can be used in a sensory room, in a hospital or nursing home or in almost any environment. If the controller is left untouched for five minutes, the Superactive Fiber Optic Bundle will go into "calming" mode, slowly changing through a rainbow of colors. This mode can be used for relaxation or de-escalation for individuals with Dementia and Autism.
Operates on low voltage with the supplied transformer, which requires 110v AC power. There is no electricity in the fiber optics, only light, which means the user can safely get close to the product.
The unit is designed to be portable, but the light source must be kept out of a child's reach.
Both the standard 8-button and MAZE controllers operate from a distance of up to 90ft., and utilize our new Qi charging system (pronounced "chee"). They have internal, rechargeable lithium polymer batteries and charge wirelessly using inductive charging coils. Simply set the controller down on the charging pad, and it charges!
